The band once again welcomes SIUE Professor of Trumpet Performance, who will be joining us on stage for our July 16th concert in Staunton. Dr. Korak will play Yellow Rose of Texas variations for band and maybe we’ll have another treat for you besides. Don’t miss! Thursday 6/19/14 Concert to Feature Well-known Jazz Standards
Fun Concert Thursday Mt. Olive sponsored by FNB
This Thursday (June 19) the Heritage Community Band will feature a concert of well-known jazz standards. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy unforgettable tunes from the Great American Songbook, as the band plays a tribute to Duke Ellington and other great tune masters. Come on out and sit in the cool shade at the historic bandstand on Main Street in Mt. Olive. The Mt. Olive branch of the First National Bank in Staunton will offer free bottled water to audience members. The Heritage Community Band is the Municipal Band of Staunton, Mt. Olive, Gillespie and Benld and is under the direction of Dr. Darryl Coan. See you there!
