This Thursday, July 31st 2014, the Heritage Community Band will present its annual Kid’s & Family Concert. Besides fun music for the kids, we will feature our special guest soloist, Dr. Kris Pineda, a Staunton native. Dr. Pineda is Asst. Prof. of Piano at SIUE. We’ll also feature our tuba player, Aaron Schmidt on an old band favorite. The free concert will take place Thursday, July 31 at 7:30pm at the bandstand behind Staunton Public Library. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and the whole family for a fun concert. The Heritage Community Band is the Municipal Band of Staunton, Mt. Olive, Gillespie and Benld. The concert is sponsored in part by the First National Bank in Staunton. This is our last concert of the 2014 Season so DON’T MISS IT!
Come to a memorable concert. The Heritage Community Band will play John Williams’ “Olympic Fanfare”, medleys of hits by the great Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra (featuring our young trumpeter and singer CJ Meno), Spinning Wheels (Blood, Sweat and Tears), and a fantastic Dixieland ensemble. Then the ever popular Big Shake Daddies will task over, so get your dancing shoes on and come to tonight’s concert. Better yet, invite some friends!! See you there!
The band once again welcomes SIUE Professor of Trumpet Performance, who will be joining us on stage for our July 16th concert in Staunton. Dr. Korak will play Yellow Rose of Texas variations for band and maybe we’ll have another treat for you besides. Don’t miss! Thursday, July 17 at 7:30 PM at the Bandstand behind Staunton City Hall and Staunton Public Library. See you there!
